The Music
Ministry at King's Grant Presbyterian Church (KGPC) is a vital component of how
we worship and glorify our Lord and Savior.
Many members of our congregation and our youth participate in this
outstanding Ministry. We have been blessed
to have had exceptional leadership from an extremely gifted individual for the
past 41 years. As she is poised to
retire, we are in search of a talented musician and leader who can continue to
enhance our worship experience through music.
Our Music Ministry can be summarized in a statement from one of our
members:
The music “ministry” at
King’s Grant Presbyterian Church is just that; a true ministry that touches
many hearts for Christ.
KGPC is
located in the heart of the Little Neck Peninsula of Virginia Beach,
Virginia. This is a family-focused
community with the majority of residences constructed within the past 40-60
years. There are three elementary
schools in the area which are part of the Virginia Beach City Public Schools
(VBCPS), an award-winning public school division, with numerous accolades at
the region, state, and national levels. For the third consecutive
year, 100% of schools tested in VBCPS earned full state accreditation from the
Commonwealth.
In addition to KGPC, there are five other
churches of various denominations on the Little Neck Peninsula. In the past, the churches have engaged in a
number of ecumenical worship activities including several large choral concerts
with guest conductors. The churches
collaborate in a number of local community support activities including housing
the homeless and blood drives
Our church
is approximately 15 minutes from the oceanfront and 20 minutes from downtown
Norfolk. There is plenty of shopping and
restaurants within a 10-minute drive.
The Hampton Roads community (comprised of the cities of Virginia Beach,
Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk) is racially diverse with a strong
military presence. As one newcomer to
the area summed up the community: “This is an easy place to live!”
