Winter Worship Series: Gifts of the Dark Wood

The Gift of Weakness

Dr. Chris Carrasco
No one wants to be weak. Weakness means we need help, we are incompetent on our own and must have someone else so that we can accomplish what we want to do. Yet, weakness keeps us dependent on God, reminding us that we cannot live an abundant life on our own. Our weakness reminds us how powerful God is, for God’s power is made perfect in weakness. So let us boast of our weaknesses!

Winter Worship Series: Gifts of the Dark Wood

This worship series, based on the book by the same name by Eric Elnes, is about “seeing life through new eyes, recognizing that experiences of failure, emptiness, and uncertainty are as critical for finding our way through life as they are unavoidable.” We will see how experiences of life through the “dark wood” actually open us to God’s lessons of new growth that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. How can the struggles of life be the seedbed of spiritual awakening and avenues through which God shapes us?
