Incarnation%3A Unwrapping the Titles of Jesus

The Deliverer’s Title: Savior

Dr. Chris Carrasco
Luke 2:8-12; Matthew 1:20-21 To the shepherds, the angel announced the good news of great joy – that a Savior had been born. Even the name of Jesus adds meaning to his title of Savior. We will consider what it means to call Jesus Savior, to ask what he is saving us from and to think about what he is saving us for.

Incarnation: Unwrapping the Titles of Jesus

His parents gave him the name Jesus. But the prophets, the shepherds, the wise men and angels addressed him by other names. They called him Messiah, the Lord, the Savior, Emmanuel, the Word made Flesh and the Light of the World. This Advent we'll seek to understand the purpose of the Incarnation by unwrapping the meaning of these titles and what they tell us about the child whose birth we celebrate at Christmas. Join us as we reflect upon the significance of the Christ-child for our weary lives and our hurting and broken world today!
